Hand built by Rober Julin a Seattle area luthier this concert body guitar has figured Koa back and sides with a Sitka Spruce top. The bridge fingerboard and fingerboard binding are Ebony. Ebony is also used for the body binding, headstock veneer plate, and the back plate on the headstock. Nut and saddle are bone. Fret markers, Headstock log, and Ebony bridge pins are in with Mother of Pearl. The Rosette is inlaid in Koa. The fingerboard and headstock sport a nice accent of pin stripping. As a final touch the body is accented with a herringbone inlay. A nice light feel with lots of overtones. |
Taylor XXX KE 30th Anniversary |
Number 219 of only 250 made, this is a special edition instrument. The body wood is select Koa and the top is beautiful Spruce with lots of silking. Black white black pin strips are employed on the body and Rosette. The Abalone in the Rosette and Purfling are absolutly georgous with tons of figure or fire as some may call it. The Mother of Pearl used in the Fingerboard inlays and back of Headstock also has beautiful varience in it. A Slot Headstock is complemented with Waverly machines. Ebony Fingerboard, Bridge Pins, and Back Plate on the Headstock are features. Ivoroid binds both the body and the Fingerboard. Signed and numbered this is a very comfortable instrument to play and has great tone and sustain. A marvelous fingerstyle player. ***Though used, this instrument is extremely clean and very well priced. |
Thompson T-1 w/ Baggs Pickup |
Ted Thompson is the builder of this Grand Auditorium style instrument. The back and sides are East Indian Rosewood and top wood is Sitka Spruce. Both the body and the fingerboard are bound in Maple. The fingerboard and bridge are Ebony and fret markers are Abalone as are inlays in the Ebony bridge pins. The purfling inlays match those used for the Rosette inlays. Headstock veneer plate in East Indian Rosewood. The saddle is bone and the nut appears to be bone as well though it has taken on a bit of color. This instrument is equipped with an LR Baggs I Beam pickup with a volume control wheel at the soundhole. This instrument has depth but retains clarity at the same time and has a very nice low profile neck for fast play. |
Webber 000-12fret Slot head |
*** SOLD! *** Here is a true one of a kind Webber. The sides and back on this instrument are of Macassar Ebony and the top is Sitka Spruce. Snake wood binding adorns the body, neck and headstock. The Headstock is slot head style with individual Waverly Tunning Machines. Abalone is employed for the Rosette, Purfling and for the rectangular fret markers. A nice accent is the use of Macasssar Ebony for the bridge as well. Ebony is also used for the Bridge Pins, Headstock Veneer Plate and Fingerboard. The nut measures 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the saddle is 2 1/4 inches. The sound is big and rich with balance as well as articulation. Though preowned, this is a very special instrument, built as a limited run of custom instruments with select woods. Truely a one off. |
Webber Mini Jumbo |
This Webber is a mini jumbo or jumbo shrimp as they are sometimes called by their builder. Back and side woods on this piece are Walnut and to top wood is Englemann Spruce. Ebony is liberally used for the fingerboard, fingerboard binding, headstock veneer, bridge, and bridge pins. The headstock logo "W" is very stealthy being that it is inlaid probably in Walnut into the Ebony. The tuners are also very understated as they are black with Ebony buttons. Nut and saddle are bone. The bracing is scallopped and tappered. If you have not played a mini jumbo before they have a nice punch but retain clarity. Webbers seem to project the sound right off of the top as if the sound is already out in the room, as opposed to coming out of the soundhole. Looking for a Webber and don't want to come up with new pricing, this is it. There is one ding on the top of this near new guitar. Look closely at the photos, lower bout bottom section. |
